You built it over a lifetime. Don’t let the tax man get it first.

In Ontario, taxes and costs can come due when someone passes, often before anything reaches the people they chose. If the money isn’t there, something gets sold. Nad Khoja helps people across Ontario see that bill coming and plan for it, so what they built goes where they meant it to go. Life insurance is often part of that plan. No pitch. Just an honest conversation.

What happens to all of this when I’m gone?

Most people spend 30 or 40 years asking one question: how do I build more? They buy a home. Start a business. Save for retirement. Grow their investments.

Very few ever sit down and ask the next ones. What has to be paid before anyone gets a dollar? How much actually arrives? And does it go to the people I chose, the way I meant it to?

If leaving something real behind matters to you, to your kids, your grandkids, a brother, or a cause you care about, those questions deserve a proper answer. Not a last-minute one.

Three things people often find out too late

None of this is meant to scare you. It’s just what tends to happen when there’s no plan.

1

The bills come before the inheritance

When someone passes, there can be taxes, fees and costs to settle before anything reaches the people they chose. If the money isn’t sitting there, something may have to be sold to pay it. Sometimes that’s the cottage. Sometimes it’s the business.

2

“Fair” is harder than it sounds

One person wants the business. Another wants cash. A home can’t be split down the middle. Without a plan, the people you leave behind are left to work it out at the worst possible time.

3

No plan is still a plan. Just not yours.

If you don’t decide what happens, the rules decide for you. And the rules don’t know who mattered to you, what you worked for, or what you hoped it would do.

Does any of this sound like you?

These are the people Nad talks with most. See if you recognize yourself.

Real Estate & Home

You bought a home years ago and it’s worth a lot more now

You’ve paid it down. It has grown in value more than you ever expected. You want the people you chose to benefit from it one day. But you’ve never actually sat down and planned how it will pass to them, or what that might cost.

“Do I have a plan, or am I just hoping it works itself out?”

Business & Assets

You built a business and it’s a big part of what you own

You know how to run it. You know how to grow it. But you haven’t seriously planned what happens to its value when you’re not there. Who steps in? Who gets paid out? How does that get funded without hurting the business?

“Who should get what I built, and how do I want that to happen?”

Transition & Wealth

You’re doing well, and the question has changed

The home is paid off or close to it. There’s retirement savings and some investments. You’re not lying awake over next month’s bills anymore. So the question is no longer “do I have enough?”

“What do I actually want to leave behind?”

Next Generation & Causes

You want it to go somewhere the rules wouldn’t send it

Maybe a grandchild’s first home. Maybe a niece who’s like a daughter to you. Maybe a cause or a community that shaped your life. If nobody plans for it, the default rules send everything down one path, and it may not be yours.

“How do I make sure it goes where I want it to?”

These are common situations, not promises or individual advice. Everyone’s insurance, tax and estate picture is different.

Nad Khoja in a relaxed setting, life insurance advisor

Meet Nad. Thirty years of helping people in Ontario pass on what they built.

Nad Khoja has been a licensed life and health insurance advisor since 1996. Nearly 30 years, most of it spent helping people in Ontario with one question: how does what I’ve built get to the people I choose, in one piece?

He doesn’t start with a product. He starts with a conversation about what you’ve built, who matters to you, and what you want your legacy to do. Then he walks you through how insurance actually works, one step at a time, so you understand what you’re choosing and why. Nobody should sign something they don’t understand.

Long before insurance, Nad studied biomedical ethics at the University of Toronto. The hard questions about health, care and what we owe the people around us have been his work ever since. He later earned the Elder Planning Counselor designation, specialized training in the money, health and family decisions that come up later in life.

Because he’s independent and not tied to one company, he can place your coverage with any of ten of Canada’s leading insurers and explain the differences in plain language. If something isn’t the right fit, he’ll say so.

What happens when you call

No forms. No quotes flying at you. Just a phone call, and a real conversation after that.

1

You call

Tell us a little about you and what’s on your mind. It takes a couple of minutes. If Nad is with another client, leave your name and number and he’ll call you back.

2

You talk it through

By phone, video or in person. This is where Nad asks the questions most people never get asked. What have you built? Who do you want it to go to? What has to be paid before it gets there? What would you hate to see sold? He listens more than he talks, and you’ll leave with questions you didn’t know you had, and answers to the ones you did.

3

You walk away with a clear picture

You’ll know what you want your legacy to do, and whether it’s worth looking at how insurance could fit. If it’s not the right fit, Nad will tell you that too.

What the conversation costs you: nothing

No fee. No obligation. Nothing to sign. You spend 20 minutes on the phone and come away understanding your own situation better than you did before. If it goes no further than that, that’s fine with Nad.

Where life insurance fits

Most people think of life insurance one way: protection for a young family if something happens too soon. That’s one use, and an important one.

But life insurance does one simple thing that turns out to be very useful later in life. It pays a set amount, in cash, to the people you name, at the moment the bills come due. No waiting for a house to sell. No arguing over who covers what.

Permanent life insurance is built to stay in place for your whole life, so it’s there whenever that day comes. For some people, that makes it the cleanest way to pass value on to the people they chose.

Whether it fits your situation depends on your goals, your circumstances and the people you have in mind. That’s what the conversation with Nad is for. The question isn’t “which policy should I buy?” It’s “what am I trying to do for the people I care about?”

Call Nad to talk it through

Whole life: the steady one

The payments and the coverage are set from day one and stay put. Many people choose it when they want something predictable they never have to think about again.

Universal life: the flexible one

More ways to set it up and adjust it over time. Nad can walk you through when that flexibility is worth having, and when it isn’t.

Also need health coverage? Nad helps people with health, critical illness and disability insurance too. If that’s on your mind, bring it up on the call.

Is this the right conversation for you?

Legacy Transfer is not about finding the cheapest policy. It’s for people who have already built something worth passing on.

This is probably for you if

  • You have someone, or something, you want to leave it to
  • You own a home, a business, investments or savings that have grown over the years
  • You want that value to reach the people you chose, not get eaten up along the way
  • You’ve started thinking about what you leave behind, even if you haven’t done anything about it yet
  • You’d rather talk to a real person than fill out a form online

This is probably not for you if

  • You’re shopping for the lowest monthly rate and nothing else
  • You want an instant online quote without a conversation
  • You’re not thinking about who gets what you’ve built, at all, right now

That’s okay. Nad may not be the right fit, and he’d rather tell you that than waste your time.

Why waiting doesn’t make this easier

Most people put this off. Not because they don’t care, but because it’s uncomfortable and there’s always something more urgent.

The trouble is, life insurance is priced on two things you can’t turn back: your age and your health. The younger and healthier you are when you look at it, the more options you tend to have. Every year you wait, the door closes a little.

You don’t have to decide anything today. You just have to start the conversation.

Questions people ask

These are the ones that come up on almost every call. If yours isn’t here, ask it when you call.

Call Nad at (647) 724-1315

It’s thinking ahead about what you’ve built (your home, your savings, your business, your investments) and deciding what you want it to become for the people who come after you. It starts with two questions: who do I want to receive it, and how do I want it to get there?

You spent years building it. Give the next part 20 minutes.

If you’ve started thinking about what you want to leave behind, and who you want it to go to, you don’t need to figure it all out today. You just need to start the conversation.
